Job summary

CleanSlate Centers in Athol, MA is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant II to join our care team, supporting medical providers, handling clinical and administrative tasks, and helping deliver a seamless patient experience in our mission-driven program.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, performing phlebotomy and CLIA-waived tests, administering injections, managing medications, and coordinating follow-up with outreach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program.
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals.
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Administer injections per provider direction and training.
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts.
• Support outreach efforts: appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up.
• Manage lab and PPE supplies, maintain documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow.
• Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols.
