Job description

This position is based at SCRI Oncology Partners in Nashville, Tenn., a dedicated cancer treatment center led by renowned oncologists. The center offers personalized cancer care and clinical trial opportunities through its affiliation with Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a global leader in oncology research with over 30 years of experience.

Scope:
  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties under supervision.
  • Promote efficient patient flow and care during exams and procedures.
  • Perform clerical tasks, answer phones, and maintain schedules.
  • Support adherence to US Oncology Compliance Program, including ethics and business standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients and record vital signs, allergies, medication changes, and other data.
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms and assist with procedures.
  • Administer injections as delegated.
  • Maintain disinfection protocols and respond to patient calls.
  • Perform administrative duties like typing, filing, and faxing.
  • Alert healthcare team of abnormal vitals or important patient information.
  • Assist with data collection, medication lists, and scheduling tests and treatments.
  • Enter orders under supervision as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • At least three years of experience as a medical or nursing assistant.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Requires full body motion, standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs, and good vision and hearing. The environment involves exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards typical of an oncology clinic.
