Scope

• Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties under supervision.
• Promote efficient patient flow and care, including exams and procedures.
• Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones and maintaining schedules.
• Support adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

Essential duties include:

• Escort patients and record vital signs and other data.
• Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatments.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist with procedures.
• Administer injections as delegated.
• Maintain disinfection protocols.
• Respond to patient calls and perform administrative tasks.
• Alert staff of abnormal vitals and important patient information.
• Collect data, manage documentation, and schedule tests and treatments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• At least three years of experience as a medical or nursing assistant.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to handle and lift patients, perform manual tasks, and coordinate eye-hand movements.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
• Corrected vision and hearing required.
