Job summary

CleanSlate Centers in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians, perform phlebotomy and CLIA-waived testing, and assist with injections. The role emphasizes patient safety, accurate EMR documentation, and seamless patient flow.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, completion of MA/Phlebotomy/EMT/LPN program, 1+ year MA experience, and BLS or ability to obtain within 90 days. Monday–Friday schedule with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program.
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy.
• Willingness to train on injections if not already proficient.
• Experience in behavioral health, billing, or healthcare settings is a plus.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals.
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Administer injections per provider direction and training.
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts.
• Support outreach efforts: appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up.
• Manage lab and PPE supplies, maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow.
• Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols.
