Job summary

CleanSlate Centers in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join our care team. You will support medical providers, perform both clinical and administrative tasks, and help create a smooth, compassionate patient journey from arrival to discharge.

Daily duties include preparing patients with medical history and vitals, phlebotomy, urine drug screens, injections as directed, and medication counts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; MA/Phlebotomy/EMT/LPN program completed.
• At least 1 year experience as Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy; willing to train on injections.
• Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office; healthcare experience a plus; BLS preferred or within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing
• Administer injections per provider direction and training
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts
• Support outreach: appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up
• Manage lab and PPE supplies, maintain documentation in the EMR
• Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow
• Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols

• Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy
• Willingness to train on injections if not already proficient
• Experience in behavioral health, billing, or healthcare settings is a plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office
