Job summary

Atrium Health in North Carolina seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers through rooming patients, measuring vitals, and conducting health screenings in line with clinic policy and competency standards. High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training may be accepted in lieu of a formal MA program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and department competency assessments are required where applicable.

Responsibilities

Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and clinic policies.
Performs rooming tasks: vitals, history, med reconciliation, screenings.
Assist provider with procedures and administrative tasks as ordered.
Conducts venipuncture and specimen collection; labels, packs, and tracks results.
Performs CLIA-waived lab tests and POCT per standing orders.
Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
Handles referrals, appointments, and medication/supply ordering.
Maintains clean, stocked work area and safe equipment usage.
Communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, and physicians.
