Atlantic Medical Management, LLC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient care under physician supervision in a Swansboro, NC clinic. The role includes routine clinical duties and front-desk support in a busy office.

Applicants must graduate from an accredited CMA program; pediatric MA experience is preferred. Proficiency with NextGen EHR, MS Teams, and Outlook, plus strong communication and organizational skills, are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program.
• Pediatric MA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work independently.
• Answer telephones and greet patients in a professional, courteous, and caring manner.
• Ability to perform front desk check-in/out, collect copayments and payments on patient balances, and schedule patients.
• Properly and systematically update patient medical records and information in the NextGen EHR system.
• Assist in coordinating scheduling and conducting patient care from pre-visit through post-visit.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Taking medical histories and recording vital signs.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients clearly and empathetically.
• Assist the physician during examinations and procedures, handling instruments and materials.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform in-house laboratory tests.
• Dispose of contaminated supplies; sterilize instruments; keep treatment rooms clean.
• Educate patients and document education in the chart; provide web resources.
• Prepare and administer medications; conduct medication reconciliation.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the patient's EHR and provide after-hours care information as needed.
• Participate in workflow and Quality Improvement meetings to refine patient care continuity.
• Remain current on population health data through training and lectures.
• Telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy; authorize drug refills as directed.
• Perform other clinical functions as delegated by the physician.
• Prior authorizations.
