Optum in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures, record patient data in the EMR, and prepare examinations.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, measuring vitals, assisting with tests, updating records, reconciling medications, and performing point-of-care testing. Pay ranges between $16 and $29 per hour for full-time roles, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or MA certification.
• Current BLS (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• EMR experience or aptitude to learn EMR systems.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms according to policy.
• Prepare patients for examination; measure vitals (BP, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests; provide pre-visit prep guidance.
• Update EMR with medical information and test results; verify demographics, meds, allergies, complaints.
• Reconcile medications and set up refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Order and perform point-of-care tests (strep, urine, HCG, glucose).
