Job summary

OptumCare seeks an experienced clinical support professional to assist clinicians in the exam room and ensure timely patient flow. You will verify pre-visit tests, update the EMR, and provide patient-friendly service to strengthen the patient-clinician relationship.

Responsibilities include vital signs, aiding with procedures, and coordinating referrals and labs as part of a collaborative care team. Prior EMR and customer-service experience are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or Medical Assistant Certification.
• ACLS may be required depending on specialty.
• 1+ years of experience in clinical or customer service setting.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms and measures vital signs.
• Assists clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests; advises on pre-visit requirements.
• Ensures EMR is updated with medical information, tests and consultations.
• Keeps patients informed of visit status and any delays.
• Verifies and updates patient data in the EMR per Meaningful Use guidelines; reconciles medications.
