Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver direct and indirect patient care, under supervision of a provider. You will perform vitals, screenings, and chart preparation, while handling scheduling, referrals and follow-up tasks.

Certification requirements include a Medical Assistant diploma or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic, with BLS active within 90 days. Experience in a busy medical office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic/Medic certification; relevant experience considered.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed by American Heart Association within 3 months of hire date.
• All required credentials maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care within Medical Assistant scope.
• Perform vitals, health history, screenings, and patient education under provider direction.
• Schedule, check in/out, referrals, chart prep, and prior authorizations; document quality control and testing.
