Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support in patient care. You will perform vitals, patient history, and basic screenings under supervision, while coordinating with providers to ensure smooth flow of visits.

The role includes scheduling, check-in/out, chart prep and prior authorizations, with EPIC EMR experience preferred. A Medical Assistant diploma or CT CNA/EMT certification is required or comparable experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT Certification.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care under provider supervision.
• Record vitals, patient history, screenings, health maintenance and advance directives.
• Schedule, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations.
• Conduct point of care testing and maintain documentation.
