Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care at Penn Medicine Valley Forge. The MA will perform patient preparation, chart reviews, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and assist with minor procedures.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (or 2+ years experience as MA may be considered).
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and practice manager with patient-centered care.
• Prepare patients and chart, review medical history and insurance restrictions.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, and other outpatient screening tests as ordered.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and maintain sterile field.
• Handle call-backs and patient follow-up instructions as directed.
• Maintain infection control and keep patient care areas organized and stocked.
