Job summary

Penn Medicine in Springfield, PA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support Family Medicine physicians and the practice team. The MA will assist in patient care, perform specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, and coordinate with providers to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, reviewing medical history in EMR, and managing routine tasks to support clinical workflows and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of a Penn Medicine Approved Program (or higher-level equivalent).
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Or 1+ year experience as MA or Clinical Support Representative may be considered in lieu of MA program completion.

Responsibilities

• Promptly rooms patients and prepares chart for visit using EMR.
• Notes med refills and coordinates with provider for orders.
• Obtains vital signs and documents results.
• Assists with injections, vaccines and minor procedures as directed.
• Maintains infection control and safe patient environment.
• Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens when needed.
• Manages patient communication and care coordination with other services.
