Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Family Medicine team in Springfield, PA. The MA will support physicians, use EMR to manage patient data, and perform routine clinical tasks to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, recording vitals, processing specimens, and assisting with procedures. A clear path for MA certification within 90 days is provided, with emphasis on patient-centered care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of Penn Medicine Approved MA program or higher required.
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• 1+ years' MA or Clinical Support Representative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients promptly and prepares exam room.
• Documents history, medication list, allergies, vitals in EMR.
• Obtains patient specimens and performs basic testing as directed.
• Performs EKGs and outpatient screening tests per MD orders.
• Assists with minor procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Maintains patient safety and responds to emergencies as needed.
• Maintains patient education materials and completes required forms.
