Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in a busy outpatient setting. You will room patients, record vitals, interview and document histories, and assist with examinations and treatments under physician direction.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms and equipment, collecting samples, and performing routine laboratory tests. A high school diploma plus relevant medical training or experience is required; certification is preferred and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one of the listed options (medical assisting related).
• Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• Assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests as needed.
• Set up equipment and prepare treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests.

Education

Medical Assistant Program Diploma

1 year of medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
