Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a skilled Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. You will prepare patients, assist providers, administer medications and vaccines, manage specimens, and support clerical duties within Presbyterian MA scope.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 6 months MA experience or completion of an MA/Nursing Assistant program, BLS certification, and successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training

Qualifications

• Six months of MA experience or completion of an accredited MA/Nursing Assistant program.
• BLS (American Heart Association/Red Cross/ASHI) required.
• Maintains current emergency response certifications (i.e., BLS).
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform MA procedures after competency within MA scope of work under supervision.
• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Provide basic patient education.
• Set up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
