Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a skilled Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic. You will prepare patients for visits, support efficient patient flow, and assist providers with treatments, medications, and clerical tasks including scheduling and referrals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of MA experience or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification required (AHA/Red Cross/ASHI).
• Maintain current emergency response certifications (e.g., BLS).
• ROT Registered Orthopedic Technologist required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Sign on available for qualified candidates.
• Perform MA procedures under provider supervision within MA scope of work.
• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations; dressing changes.
• Collect laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Provide basic education to patients; maintain sterile procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
• Prepares patient for rooming and exam
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
• Provides basic education to patients
• Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (i.e. BLS)
• ROT Registered Orthopedic Technologist Required within 12 months of hire.
• Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe. Orthopedic and Podiatry Departments Only
