Job summary

Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute is seeking a detail‑oriented Medical Assistant to support physicians and APPs in an ambulatory GI setting. You will collect patient data, prepare patients for examinations, and assist during procedures, while documenting care and following institute policies.

The role requires a high school diploma, MA training, and active BLS certification, with potential certification within six months of hire if applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school.
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Within 6 months of hire, obtain MA certification from an approved agency if hired after Jan 1, 2015.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents treatments, procedures, and patient education according to policies.
• Enter orders in the electronic medical system under provider direction.
• Coordinate scheduling and tests; act as liaison for patients.
