Orlando Health Digestive Health Insitute is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform patient care in an ambulatory setting under physician or APP supervision. The role includes gathering patient data, assisting with examinations, and coordinating scheduling and testing at multiple Orlando Health offices in Tampa area.

Qualified candidates will have MA training, BLS certification, and the ability to work with a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school or verifiable work experience in patient care.
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• If hired after Jan 1, 2015, maintains certification from an approved certifying agency within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under supervision in ambulatory care.
• Gathers patient data and assists with examination preparation.
• Assists physician/APP during examinations and procedures.
• Documents treatments and patient education per policies.
• Schedules tests and tests coordination with patient and provider.
