Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute seeks a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory/physician office operations, including patient registration, scheduling and referrals, under the supervision of the Practice Operations/Medical Office Manager. Position is in the GI department, located at 38135 Market Square Drive.

Ideal candidate has a high school diploma, about 2 years in a medical office, and familiar with ICD & CPT codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing ~30 wpm or proficient with practice management software.
• Knowledge of ICD & CPT coding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient registration, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling and referrals.
• Handle multiple tasks, answer calls, file lab reports and medical records per policy.
• Perform word processing and spreadsheet data entry.
• Handle charge entry and cash handling.
