Orlando Health Digestive Health Insitute is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform patient care under the supervision of a physician or APP in an ambulatory GI setting.

The schedule is Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm and Friday 7:00am–12:00pm, with responsibilities including data gathering, exam preparation, and assisting the physician. Requires MA training and BLS certification; several credential options are listed.

Qualificações

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience).
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification -and- within 6 months of hire to maintain one of the listed certifications.

Responsabilidades

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents treatments and education according to policies.
• Assists with scheduling and communication to obtain tests or consultations.
• Enter orders into the EMR under provider direction.
• Maintain infection control and safety practices.
