Job summary

NCH Medical Group in Naples, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide basic patient care under established standards in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This full-time role supports clinicians, manages patient flow, and documents vital signs and procedures.

You will participate in EMR documentation, assist with exams and procedures, coordinate referrals, and perform clerical duties such as scheduling and chart handling.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant or practical nursing training program with clinical practicum hours; OR MA certification; OR 1 year of related experience.
• BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Verifiable ability to take accurate patient vital signs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes.
• Intermediate computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows.
• Knowledge of basic and specialty medical terminology.
• Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities, schedules and patient flow.
• Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms; observe and report reactions.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and specimen collection.
• Collect patient history including medications and allergies.
• Provide patient care as directed by provider; assist with screenings and treatments.
• Assist providers with procedures as needed.
• Document in EMR and relay instructions to patient/family.
• Answer calls and messages; act as liaison between patient and provider.
• Handle clerical duties: filing, sending records, scheduling appointments.
• Collect and handle lab specimens; maintain infection control practices.
• Process electronic referrals for referrals to specialists.

Medical Assistant training program

Medical Assistant certification

Practical nursing training

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Vital signs measurement

CPT and ICD9 knowledge
