Job summary

The Medical Assistant position at NCH Medical Group in Naples, FL supports patient care through rooming, taking vital signs, preparing for exams and documenting in the Electronic Medical Record. You will liaise between patients and providers and assist with procedures as needed.

Minimum high school or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification, BLS certification, and good communication skills are required. Proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training or certification, or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification from Red Cross or AHA is required.
• Able to take accurate patient vital signs and document them.
• Proficient with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD codes and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities including checking schedules and patient flow.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and document observations and treatments.
• Assist with procedures and collect specimens as needed.
• Document in EMR and communicate with patients/families.
• Handle clerical duties such as scheduling and filing medical records.
• Maintain infection control practices and manage supplies.
