Job summary

NCH Medical Group in Naples, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide basic patient care following established standards. The role involves patient flow management, specimen collection, and collaboration with providers, all within a full-time, 8-hour day schedule.

Responsibilities include documenting in the EMR, assisting with procedures, and communicating with patients and families. A high school diploma or MA training and BLS are required, with CMP/codes knowledge and computer proficiency

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant training program with practicum hours, or MA certification, or 1 year medical office experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to take accurate vital signs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes.
• Intermediate computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Organize patient flow and manage schedules.
• Escort patients to exam rooms; observe and report reactions to medications or treatments.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressings, and specimen collection.
• Collect patient history including current medications and allergies.
• Provide patient care per provider; assist with screenings and treatments.
• Assist providers with various procedures as needed.
• Document in the EMR and relay instructions to patient/family; record interventions.
• Answer patient calls and messages; act as liaison between patient and provider.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing medical records and scheduling appointments.
• Collect and handle lab specimens following infection control guidelines.
