Job summary

WeCare tlc is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our health center serving employees and dependents of our client. The Medical Assistant will assist in delivering occupational, primary, urgent, and emergent care in an ambulatory setting with emphasis on prevention, treatment, and health maintenance.

Under the supervision of the Health Center Nurse Manager, the role requires strong phlebotomy skills, effective communication, and teamwork while supporting patient care and clinical tasks in a busy

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as Medical Assistant, EMT, PCT or CNA.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

• Assist in ambulatory care with focus on prevention and health maintenance.
• Support occupational, primary, urgent and emergent care under supervision.
• Perform phlebotomy and maintain clear patient communication.

WeCare tlc operates a health center for the employees and dependents of our client.

The Medical Assistant under the supervision of the Health Center Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting in the delivery of occupational, primary, urgent, and emergent care in an ambulatory setting with emphasis on prevention, treatment, and health maintenance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have strong phlebotomy skills. Effective communication skills, high level of customer service and ability to work as a member of a team. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic human anatomy.

Requirements

Prior Experience and Education

Required

• Must have through education or training in the basics of medical terminology.
• Must have a Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, EMT, PCT or CNA
• Current CPR/BLS

Preferred

• Successful completion and graduation from a medical assistant program
• Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• Phlebotomy experience
