Job summary

Community Care Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient-focused care in a collaborative clinic environment. You will prepare patients for exams, record vital signs, manage rooms and supplies, and assist with injections and basic wound care under supervision.

The role involves phlebotomy, charting in EMR, and coordinating tests and follow-ups while educating patients on treatments and medications. A high school diploma and BLS are required; CMA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current CMA certification and active BLS certification are preferred/required as stated.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant medical assistantexperience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and record vital signs and history.
  • Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and sterilize equipment.
  • Administer injections, change dressings, and assist with wound care as ordered.
  • Collect blood and laboratory specimens and manage lab data.
  • Document patient care in EMR and schedule tests or follow-ups.
  • Instruct patients on treatments and medications and coordinate care.
  • Support cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform phlebotomy and clinic opening/closing duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable
  • Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
  • Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
  • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
  • Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
  • Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting
  • Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
  • Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
  • Phlebotomy
  • Perform opening/closing clinic duties and patient call backs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred

Compensation: Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
