CommuniCare in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support front and back office operations under general supervision. You will assist with referrals, patient communication, injections, EKGs, screenings, and routine clinical tasks.

The role requires at least one year of MA experience, a High School diploma, and BLS certification. Strong computer skills and EMR/EHR familiarity are preferred; travel to other clinic sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant or MA certification/ diploma.
• BLS certification required.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• Travel to other clinic sites as needed.

Responsabilités

• Assists day-to-day front and back office operations.
• Assists in coordination of referrals and patient communication.
• Administers injections and assists with non-invasive procedures (EKG, screenings).
• Obtain patient history, vital signs and document quality metrics.
• Maintain inventory and ensure equipment calibration and cleaning.
• Register patients, update demographics and verify insurance.
• Perform end-of-day reconciliation and cash handling.
• Prepare for next day clinic including chart prep and pre-registration.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist other departments as needed.
