Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant and/or a Medical Assistant Diploma and/or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day operations of the front and back office; coordinates referrals and patient communication.
• Administers injections and assists with patient care procedures and exams.
• Obtains patient history and vital signs; documents quality metrics per regulations.
• Maintains inventory of medical supplies and ensures equipment is calibrated, charged, and cleaned.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, processes insurance, and ensures proper encounter data posting.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and ensures cash handling accuracy.
• Prepares for next day clinic with chart prep and pre-registration of patients.
