Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties to support efficient clinic flow, safe operations, and excellent patient experience. Responsibilities include taking medical histories, recording vital signs, updating medical records, communicating with patients, and maintaining confidentiality. Responsibilities may vary by state regulations.

• Greet and escort patients, gather history, record vital signs, prepare for exams, and document in medical records.
• Support high-quality patient experience through excellent service and communication.
• Assist physicians and providers in exams and procedures under supervision.
• Perform medical procedures such as collecting specimens, administering injections, and venipuncture, as permitted by state law.
• Communicate instructions to patients and ensure understanding.
• Assist with scheduling tests, treatments, follow-ups, and communicate results.
• Maintain exam rooms and supplies, sterilize instruments.
• Respond to calls, requests, and maintain patient files and records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification required or to be obtained within 6-12 months based on state law.

Experience: 1+ years in an office setting preferred.

Industry: Healthcare
