Job summary

ArchWell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant – Center Float to flexibly support our members in clinical and front office activities within our Birmingham clinics. You will greet patients, collect vital signs, document in EMR, schedule referrals, and help ensure a smooth patient flow while delivering compassionate care.

In this float role you may assist in the front office or direct patient care, collaborate with the PCP team, and provide coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare training is required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
• 6+ months phlebotomy experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet members upon arrival and assist with check-in.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals for the care team.
• Update member information in the EMR.
• Request and upload medical records to EMR.
• Perform intake, measure vital signs, and assist with examinations and screenings.
• Communicate patient needs to PCP and team; ensure clear handoffs and follow-ups.
• Assist with office tasks, calls, and message triage; relay information to physicians.
