JOB SUMMARY:

Cowlitz Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center looking for a versatile Float Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team! In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work in various locations, support our dedicated staff, and provide exceptional care to patients wherever you’re needed. Locations include Longview, Kelso, Woodland, Castle Rock, Cathlamet, and Ocean Park.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider. Assists Physician/ARNP or RN with direct patient care. Under supervision by medical staff: administer injections, room patients, take vitals, record chief complaints, and assist with minor surgeries/procedures. The Medical Assistant interacts regularly with patients, coworkers, and others, displaying friendliness, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and composure under pressure.

FTE 1.0 - Variable Schedule and Locations

Shifts are variable across all locations including Longview, Kelso, Woodland, Castle Rock, Cathlamet, and North Beach.

Requirements:

• Valid unrestricted WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 3-6 months of hire.
• High school diploma plus completion of a medical assisting program from an accredited institution. Associate degree or certification preferred.

Desired Education, Experience & Skills:

• 1-4 years of work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology and office procedures.
• Ability to relate respectfully and effectively with a diverse, low-income patient population.
