Job Summary: The Medical Assistant Float provides patient care under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. Schedules appointments and performs the necessary intake functions for arriving patients, assists in questions, directs telephone calls, and other patient service duties. Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of provider, patient, and assigned area. The Medical Assistant contributes to the success of the clinic by ensuring the quality of care provided to the patient. This role requires flexibility as it involves working at multiple Peak Vista locations in Colorado Springs.

Education, Certification, Licensure:
Work Experience:
Language Ability:Ability to effectively present patient information and respond to patient questions, under the direction of a licensed provider. Bilingual (Spanish) desired.
Math Ability:Demonstrates understanding of fundamental math and basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability:Demonstrates the ability to solve practical problems through utilization of critical thinking skills. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions communicated in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge, experience with use of electronic health records, internet, database software, and keyboard skills.
Work Environment: OSHA Risk Level/Work Environmental Hazards: This position has been categorized as OSHA Level 1. (See PVCHC's Exposure Control Plan for details).

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Physical Demands:Long periods of standing, moving, and sitting. Frequent bending and fine motor skills. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Must be able to get from one clinic site to related locations. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. Must be able to support/lift 50 pounds.
