Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and APPs with clinical and clerical tasks. You will prepare examination rooms, manage patient flow, obtain vitals, and document in the EHR while coordinating with the care team and ensuring safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, completion of a medical assistant or phlebotomy program, and 0–1 year of related experience, with BLS or within 30 days of hire. Travel to satellite offices may be required.

Qualifications

• English communication proficiency required.
• Basic computer use and EHR experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a clinical setting and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination room and escort patient to the room.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and accurate patient scheduling.
• Prepare information needed for patient visits and update EHR/PMS records.
• Document vital signs, allergies and medications in EHR.
• Enter orders and referrals in PMS and EHR; ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Assist in clinic duties and provide scribing services as needed.
