Job summary

Summit Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs, or NPs with clerical tasks, patient flow, and procedures. The role demands accurate vital signs, allergy updates in EHR, and timely scheduling in PMS/EHR systems.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, completion of an accredited MA or phlebotomy program, BLS within 30 days, and 0–1 year of related experience (2–4 years preferred). Strong English communication and basic IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program is required.
• 0–1 year related work experience required; 2–4 years preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts the patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for patient visits.
• Documents vital signs and allergies in EHR.
• Schedules appointments in the PMS and EHR systems.
• Stocks examination rooms with supplies and maintains equipment.
