Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs, or NPs with patient care, clerical tasks, and room management in a fast-paced clinic. You will assist with vital signs, documentation in the EHR, scheduling, and sustaining supplies to maintain efficient patient flow.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited MA or phlebotomy program, and 0–1 year of experience (2–4 years preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience is required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient in.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for patient visit.
• Documents vitals, allergies and medications in EHR.
• Schedules appointments and handles calls and messages.
• Stocks examination rooms and maintains supplies.
• Entré orders and referrals in PMS and EHR.
• Assists in transitioning care to UCC/Hospital.
• Provide scribing services.
