Job summary

US Foot and Ankle Specialists in Charleston, WV is seeking a Medical Assistant to support doctors and patients in a fast-paced podiatry office. You will assist the Physician in minor procedures and manage EMR documentation.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, vitals, post-op care, X-rays, dressings, and coordinating insurance verifications. Travel between local offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
