Job summary

US Foot and Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to support doctors and patients in a fast-paced podiatry office. Responsibilities include greeting patients, taking vitals, updating histories, documenting in EMR, and assisting with minor procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
  • Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
  • Able to travel between local office locations as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
  • Take vitals, update histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
  • Manage lab specimens, verifications, pre-authorizations, and prescriptions.
  • Make post-operative calls and provide patient service.
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory.
  • Maintain documentation and HIPAA compliance.
