Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, staff, and patients in a fast-paced podiatry office. You will help with exams, minor procedures, imaging, and patient education.

The ideal candidate has MA training or equivalent experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel between local locations as needed. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 is expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year of clinical experience.
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
  • Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
  • Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
  • Manage lab specimens, insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions.
  • Make post-operative calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.
