Job summary

Foot & Ankle Clinic of the Virginias, a division of US Foot & Ankle Specialists, seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our podiatry team in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will assist physicians, take vitals, manage exam rooms, and support procedures, injections, and in-office surgeries while maintaining accurate EMR documentation and patient education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, room them, take vitals and update medical history.
• Assist physicians with injections, wound care and minor procedures.
• Apply DME, take X-rays, prepare labs and submit specimens.
• Maintain exam rooms, sterilize instruments and stock supplies.
• Support scheduling, check-in/out and insurance verifications.
• Document EMR records and handle billing follow-ups and orthotics tracking.
