Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and staff in a fast-paced clinic. You will prep patients for exams, take vitals, document in the EMR, assist with minor procedures and post-op care, and help with digital X-rays and basic podiatric services.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a MA program or 1+ year clinical experience, and may prefer CMA/RMA certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
