Job Description: In accordance with the mission of Wood Health Company, the Medical Assistant (MA) will provide clinical and administrative support in a medical office setting, under the supervision of the physician and office manager/coordinator. The Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.

Job Duties

• Assist physicians or providers with patient assessments, examinations, and treatments.
• Prepare for various procedures and assist in treatments such as surgical procedures, pelvic exams, and other medical modalities.
• Document patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
• Collect and label specimens correctly when doing venipuncture and other specimen collections.
• Administer routine injections under the supervision of a provider, as appropriate with level of training and certification.
• Triages patient phone calls in accordance with office policy.

Minimum Requirements

• Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification.
