Job Details

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient and outpatient procedures and surgeries. They support the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous treatment of all patients.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  2. Collect and review patient insurance information, including obtaining prior authorizations and referral approvals before scheduled surgeries.
  3. Complete pre-procedure phone calls and confirm appointment times with patients.
  4. Provide patients with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
  5. Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and comply with all relevant regulations.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service or patient-facing healthcare experience preferred.
  • Willingness to support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and visitors.
  • Ability to process and interpret data.
  • Ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment.
