Description:

Under pharmacist supervision, supports the pharmacy department in areas such as inventory, preparation, distribution, compounding, processing medications and supplies, specialty medications, and medication histories. Assists with medication processing functions including answering phones, taking refill orders, entering orders into the system, preparing medications for pharmacist check, and preparing medications for disbursement, shipment, or delivery. Key duties may include handling supplies, stocking prepackaged items, maintaining inventory, delivering supplies, maintaining records, and distributing supplies. May assist in bulk compounding and preparing IV solutions. Collaborates with pharmacy staff to minimize medication errors.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Requires Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training, Indiana Pharmacy Technician License, or intern/extern license if enrolled in an accredited pharmacy college.
• Must obtain Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire unless enrolled in or graduated from an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• No criminal history related to drug work allowed.
• Strong mathematical calculation skills required.
• Ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills and work under close supervision or within defined procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
• Customer service skills necessary.
• Basic proficiency in typing and Microsoft Office applications required.
