Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Health Science preferred
• Medical Assistant certificate or related certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues
• Facilitates visit flow and informs patients and providers of delays
• Communicates clearly with patient and team during visits
• Performs MA duties under supervision: vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, immunizations
• Leads health coaching and population health outreach
• Maintains equipment and supplies, ensures sterility and expiration tracking
• Queues prescriptions and documents in EHR for clinician review
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests and handles insurance verifications
• Identifies OSHA issues and ensures PHI is used appropriately
