Job summary

Allina Health Hastings is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff in delivering timely, quality patient care at our Hastings, MN location. The role includes assisting with rooming patients, managing patient flow, and documenting in EMR.

Responsibilities encompass preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, administering injections, and coordinating test results with the team. A starting $2,000 bonus is available for eligible external candidates.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required competencies as listed on the job description.
• Completed a Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education with clinical training.
• Candidates with fewer than six months MA experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent practicum.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient information/data.
• Document patient information in EMR according to standards.
• Assist patients preparing for physician exams and provide psycho-emotional support.
• Assist with collection, labeling and processing of specimens.
• Coordinate test results with provider or RN and assist with injections and procedures.

Education

Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education

160 hours clinical externship or equivalent

High school diploma or GED
