Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage patient flow, document vitals, and support providers in exams and procedures. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen processing, and EMR documentation, with emphasis on quality patient care and adherence to safety protocols.

The successful candidate will have MA certification or equivalent training, BLS CPR, and at least two years of clinical office experience. Excellent teamwork and confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Medical Assistant or have completed MA training or 2 years MA experience.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Proficiency in basic clinical skills (phlebotomy, BP, EKG, injections).
• Minimum 2 years' experience providing clinical support in a medical office setting.
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms promptly and courteously.
• Reviews patient charts to ensure required reports are available.
• Obtains and documents patient chief complaints and vitals.
• Assists providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Draws blood and routes specimens to laboratories; prep as needed.
• Documents all activities in the medical record and communicates with patients.
