Job summary

The candidate must be a certified Medical Assistant, with CPR certification, and have experience in a medical office environment. AHA BLS is required at hire; EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be certified Medical Assistant; if not certified at hire, must complete a medical assistant training program or have two years of medical assistant experience.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Proficiency in basic clinical skills (phlebotomy, blood pressure, EKG, injections).
• Knowledge of infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms promptly and courteously.
• Review charts and ensure required reports/results are available before examinations.
• Obtain and document patient chief complaints and vitals.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for labs; route to laboratories.
