Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage patient flow, document vitals, and support clinicians with exams and procedures. You will collect blood samples, prepare specimens, and ensure accurate charting while upholding infection control and confidentiality standards.

The role requires MA certification or completion of MA training, with CPR certification at hire and EMR experience. On-site duties include multi-tasking in a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must be certified Medical Assistant or have completed a MA training program or two years of MA experience at hire.
• Must obtain MA certification within 18 months if hired without certification.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Proficiency in basic clinical skills (phlebotomy, BP, EKG, injections).
• Knowledge of infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Reviews patient charts and ensures required reports/results are available.
• Obtains and documents patient chief complaint and vitals.
• Assists providers with examinations, procedures and treatments.
• Draws blood and prepares specimens; routes to laboratories.
