Job summary

Concentra, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our patient care team in Durham, NC. You will perform DOT and non‑DOT drug testing, assist clinicians, prepare patients for exams, and handle front/back office duties to ensure smooth center operations.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, strong documentation, and excellent patient interaction. You will contribute to a clean, well‑organized center and participate in ongoing clinical competency training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred or 1+ year of direct patient care experience as MA.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for examinations including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage patients and manage routine medical procedures.
• Prepare procedure setup and assist in injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per physician orders.
• Maintain quality assurance on equipment and testing processes.
• Stock exam rooms and maintain clean, functional facilities during shifts.
• Document accurately and maintain records in front and back office tasks.
• Greet patients, handle check-in/out, and coordinate communications/authorizations.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
