Job summary

Concentra, Inc. in Akron, OH seeks a Medical Assistant - PRN to join our patient care team. This per diem role supports clinicians with routine medical procedures, test administration, patient registration, and front/back office duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The ideal candidate has MA education with externship or 1+ year direct patient care; familiarity with DOT testing and HIPAA; strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred OR at least 1 year of direct patient care as MA; or military medical experience and must meet state requirements.
• Minimum six months of MA experience; knowledge of medical procedures and terminology; occupational medicine knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for exams including vitals and ancillary testing; vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram, respirator fit testing
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.)
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments
• Handle front/back office duties and maintain accurate documentation
